The jaws (10,11) are swivel mounted (12,13) on the free ends of two levers (2,3) hinged together (1) each L-shaped with salient angles (4,7). The shorter of the two (2) pivots on its end while the longer one (3) projects beyond the pivot (1) to form an elongated lever (5) at whose end is a swivelling threaded block (6). A seating is pivot mounted on the angle (7) of the short lever (2) for the end of a threaded spindle (8) with a cranked handle (9) at its end which passes through the threaded block (6). The two jaws (10,11) slide on a common guide rod (17) which, when not in use is kept in a clasp (23) fixed to the angle (4) of the long lever (3).
