The fishing reel has a housing with integrated spiral spring (5) acting as an energy accumulator to drive the reel and also serving to control the lock release. It can be fitted in a separate housing or integrated into the reel housing. The lock release (8) prevents the rotary movement by keyed locking or starts up the rotary movement when this keyed lock is lifted. A clutch (4) between the main axis (1) of the reel and the drive axis transfers the rotary movement of the drive axis to the reel when the spring is released so that the line is suddenly jerked in. ADVANTAGE- When the fish bites it is immediately trapped by the action of the reel without requiring special angling skill.
