The invention relates to a stack for translational movement, which consists of a multiplicity of piezoceramic discs which are provided with surface metallisations as electrodes. According to the invention, insulation areas of each disc 1 are present between the in each case two metallisations 2, on the one hand on a disc edge, and on the other hand on a main surface 3 and opposite this disc edge 9. The individual discs are stacked with a mutual offset 6, the size of which corresponds to the width of the area 8 of the disc in which field deformations are produced due to the electrode arrangement when the stack is operated. This area is outside the effective quasi-monolithic cross-section 7 of the stack. Furthermore, a method for separating the stack into individual stacks is described. <IMAGE>
