A toothpaste composition contains a polishing agent, a binder, a wetting agent, a foaming agent, a perfume and 0.1-15 wt.% bamboo salt. Pref. the polishing agent is calsium hydrogen phosphate, precipitated silica or calsium carbonate; the wetting agent is sorbitol soln., glycerin or polyethylene glycol; the foaming agent is sodium sulfate, polyoxyethylene or polypropylene polymer; the perfume is peppermint or spiamint.
