A numerical controlling apparatus of an NC machine tool including an input unit, an NC CPU for processing the input value, a display unit for displaying the content of the NC, a memory formed of an O/S program, a user's program and data base, a converter for converting the program value interpreted by the NC CPU into an analog value, a servo driver and a pulse counter for controlling the position and speed of the machine is controlled by establishing the data base of necessary information, processing the data base in the operating system, internally calculating the most reasonable cutting speed to provide the result to a user, and operating the NC machine tool according to the designated cutting speed while allowing for calculation and designation of the automatic cutting speed, thereby economically maintaining the tool and improving the precision of machining of works.
