<p>The arms (9) of a welding gun (2), particularly fitted for welding "robots", are made of a carbon fiber composite material and allow for an appreciable reduction of the weight (about 50% with respect to the aluminum alloy arms and about 20-25% with respect to the titanium alloy arms), an improved handling as well as a length of the arms (9) that cannot be obtained otherwise, which is due to the characteristics of the material forming the arms. Further the improved stiffness of the used material allows for building arms (9) that are quite long and slender, with a box-type cross section, so that the feeding electric conductors (11) and the cooling ducts (13) for the welding heads can be incorporated within the arms. <IMAGE></p> |
