Appts., for filtering impurity particles from molten thermoplastics, has spaced annular plates which form filtration gaps in which the tips of blade discs rotate. Blade discs are arranged, together with blade holders, in an offset manner on a drive shaft such that their contours form a solid helix. Annular plates are pref. connected to distance pieces by threaded bolts to form a filter basket. Blade discs and the blade holders have toothed holes for seating on a toothed shaft. Filtration gaps are pref. 0.2-0.4 mm wide and 10-20 mm long and flow velocity of the plastics melt through the filtration gaps is 0.1-20 cm/sec. ADVANTAGE - Appts. removes dirt and paper residues from molten plastics packaging waste during recycling and can treat melts with high impurity contents and is protected against wear.
