The weapon has a barrel (12), chamber (14) and a breech (20) with a breech block (22). On the breech block (22) is a breech plate (24). The breech block is penetrated by two parallel ignition channels (26,28). By displacement of the breech plate(24) either of the two channels may be aligned with a penetration(30) through the breech plate (24). When one channel (32) is aligned the charge may be triggered pyrotechnically when the other charge is aligned it may be triggered electromagnetically. ADVANTAGE - The weapon may be adjusted for use with pyrotechnically or electromagnetically triggered propulsion charge. The exchange or rebuilding of of the breech is unncessary.
