A compact low-voltage rocker-operated power switch (1) has a latching device (30) to keep its contact arrangement (7) open when the operating springs (16) are already pretensioned in the closing direction. The latching device (30) has a latching lever (32) and a locking pawl (33) in the form of a half-shaft. The latching lever (32) is rotationally fixed to a contact lever bearer (8) of the contact arrangement (7). To actuate the locking pawl (33) there is a release magnet (34) fitted in a chamber in the housing (2) of the power switch (1) set aside for accessories.
