An injection molded threaded cap comprises a cover 12 from which depends an integral plug 28, an auxiliary sealing ring 30 and wherein to prevent doming of the cover of the cap, the underside of the cover has shrinkage resistance annular and radial ribs 32, 34 respectively, which provide the cap with structural resistance to the effects of shrinkage. The cap includes a tear-off ring 18 having ratchet teeth 20 each with a surface 50 which slopes so that its upper edge is off-set from its lower edge. A pull-tab of the tear-off ring 18 is located opposite an unknurled area of the skirt of the cap. <IMAGE>
