To determine the actual draw in a multi-stand rolling train, the actual value of the current load at the first stand is taken as a ratio of of the opening value to be stored, for time synchronisation with the material travel. The nth stand in the case with its store and the next stand n+1 store are taken as comparative values. Flat points at the nth stand, through shaping the material between the rollers, are corrected at the comparative value. Relative current load profile value are formed by multiplication of the stored start value at the nth stand with the comparative values from the first stand, added to the actual current load value of the nth stand, to give the actual draw value for the min. control action for the nth stand in the case. USE/ADVANTAGE - The method is for min. control of a hot rolling train where the actual draw is shown by current comparison, taking current fluctuations into account over the whole billet length.
