Gaseous fuel lighting-back preventer - uses jet pump to supply gas, driven by fluid which can quench flame, fluid being separated from gas before burner

The system prevents lighting back of inflammable gases from a burner to a tank (3) for the mixture. Fuel may flow through a first line (1) and passes through a fluid jet pump (2) which uses fluid passing through a line (6) with a flow meter (11). A drive pump (4) with a control system (10) draws fluid from the bottom of the tank and forces it into the jet pump (2), driving the fuel into the top part of the tank. There is a centrifugal separator (F1) in the tank to remove the drive fluid from the gaseous fuel. A droplet separator (F2) ar the top of the tank removes the last traces of the drive fluid from the fuel which then passes through a supply line (12) to the burner. USE/ADVANTAGE - Fuel supply system protects main tank against lighting back, with part of fuel line full of fluid.
