The cleaning method is applied to an audio signal comprising a first signal and a second time-delayed signal. A correlation between the first signal and the mixed audio signal is established during successive sections of the first signal. The time offset between the two signals is varied until a max. correlation is detected, at which the first signal is separated from the combined signal. Pref. the first signal and the combined signal are each digitalised before the correlation process, the latter effected for a defined frequency range. USE - For improving sound quality of radio commentary when accompanied by background noise.
