The present invention relates to an assistant insulation plate for use in a microwave oven. The plate is arc shaped and sits on a metal grill, the top surface supports the food which could be wrapped in a metal foil or the like. There are projections from the ends, one side and bottom of the plate which releasably connect the plate to the metal grill. The plate is made of an insulating elastic material.
