On a conveyor leading from a centreless grinder, the diameter of emerging pellets of uranium oxide is measured by their being guided up a ramp 3 by the conveyor by means of pushing by following pellets into a measurement position, where the diameter is measured against the measurement surface of the ramp, a second measurement surface 4 which is stationary and a third, movable measurement surface 5.
