There are provided methods of treating patients suffering from cancer, pharmaceutical compositions and kits for use in such methods, and methods of making such pharmaceutical compositions. The compositions comprise a liposome having an ionophore entrapped therein, and they are administered to a patient to whom an immunotoxin, an anti-cancer drug against which cancer tends to develop resistance, or a radiolabelled monoclonal antibody is also being administered. The liposome may be free of any ligand, may have a ligand bound thereto, or may have a monoclonal antibody bound thereto. |
