The wrapping of pasty food products according to the invention, preformed to receive the hot product before closing, is folded in such a way that three of its edges overlap along a width L on three contiguous sides, preferably on either side of a symmetry plane P, enabling its instantaneous and total opening on five of its faces, the sixth face being the resting face of the product on its base. Opening is effected by lifting the upper flaps (1, 2) which are each gripped between the thumb and the forefinger of each hand by exerting simultaneous traction along the direction of the arrows (3 and 4) while sliding sideways the parts (5, 6) of the upper face and the parts (7, 8) of the front face and the parts of the rear face which pivot about the edges (9, 10) of the parallelepiped of which five faces are then cleared.
