Drafter slivers are spun into yarns and two separate yarns are twisted together in the same direction of rotation as the spinning rotation. The fineness of the untwisted drafter slivers is such that the fineness of a single yarn can be produced from one sliver in each of two drafting zones. The associated installation incorporates transport belts which are associated with the drafter slivers and located between the feed containers and the drawing system of the ring spinning machine. The belts are pref. covered by landing skids covering the drafter slivers. ADVANTAGE - The invention permits greater drafts and eliminates the need for a preceeding flyer.
