<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the running speed fluctuation of a tape by using a changeover means to switch selectively a tracking error signal and a tracking error signal subject to sample and hold and outputting the switched signal. CONSTITUTION:Since the tracking error signal is not subject to sample and hold but outputted as it is for a prescribed period at the start of reproduction, the tracking is locked quickly. Then the tracking error signal is subject to sample and hold at each 2-track and then outputted, even when a head step or a reproducing level difference exists between two magnetic heads and there is a fluctuation between 2 tracks at the output of a changeover switch 18, the fluctuation is eliminated by a sample-and-hold circuit 19 and not included at the output of a tracking error signal output terminal 21. Thus, no electric disturbance due to the fluctuation is included in the tracking error signal output and the tape speed is not fluctuated.</p> |
