<p>Method for fabricating metal gratings, especially loadbearing gratings consisting of flat loadbearing elements or panels 12 oriented in one direction and connected together by flat connecting elements or panels 14 oriented in a direction approximately perpendicular to that of the loadbearing panels 12 where the coupling between the loadbearing panels 12 and the connecting panels 14 is achieved by forced engagement of a lower edge 16 of the connecting panels 14 into cavities 18 formed in an adjacent upper edge 20 of the loadbearing panels 12. The method involves preparing one group of connecting panels 14a-n oriented in one direction and engaging on top of the same in succession a series of load bearing panels 12a-d oriented in a direction approximately perpendicular to the first direction, until the grating dimensions are as desired. The text also describes an apparatus capable of preparing these gratings with spacing and dimensions selectable at will by an operator controlling the apparatus. <IMAGE></p> |
