摘要 The above-described process is intended for consolidating clay layers which yield to the exaggerated weight of a construction by means of drying-out of the subsoil by heating. It consists in sinking tipped steel tubes into the appropriate areas until they pass beyond the yielding layer, which tubes, after being heated by a set of 1500 W nickel chrome tubular resistance elements inserted in them, are raised, the walls not deforming, allowing the resistance elements to remain in direct contact with the clay layer to be dried out. The tubes, separated from one another by 1 to 2 metres, are arranged so as to form a barrier to the ballasting of the yielding layer. In this case, the phenomenon of the contraction of the clay when baked at high temperature, affects only a cylindrical space around the resistance element 5, with a radius which does not exceed 40 centimetres, the heat gradually being lost as the irradiation diminishes, this therefore not affecting the equilibrium of the building. After being baked, the clay forms a porous area around the resistance element with the ability to absorb all the adjacent moisture, as if it were a "drain" or distillation reservoir. <IMAGE>
