The method and the device are used in the food industry, especially as part of an animal slaughtering line. It ensures the necessary hygiene of the slaughtered animals and eliminates any accident risks. The device can be easily maintained and cleaned and is flexible in respect of capacity and automation. The method includes continuous transportation of the animal carcass in longitudinal direction matching the direction of movement of the conveyor line (23, 24), the hind legs, looking into the direction of movement, are help in the ingoing part (1) of the conveyor belt towards the movement of the forelegs. The animal carcass (9) is fed by stretching having basic constant distance between the suspension points of the front and hind legs, and the skin is removed by scraper means (91) fitted under the back of the animal carcass. The device consists of a conveyor line made of a central line (23) and external (24) 5 lines fitted along boths its sides. Points for preskinning (2) and removal (4) of the skin are fitted along the length of the conveyor line. The conveyor line includes devices for the suspension and devices for stretching the animal corps.
