- The invention relates to a procedure for non-destructive testing of a weld (14), aiming to determine certain geometrical and/or dimensional parameters of the weld bead, such as, in particular, the position of the weld bead (14) with respect to the theoretical welding joint plane or the consistency of the penetration depth of the weld bead. - According to the invention, this procedure consists in scanning at least a portion of the weld bead using a probe (18) belonging to instrumentation (20) employing the Barkhausen effect, in recording the variations in the Barkhausen noise delivered by this instrumentation during the scanning, and in analysing these variations in order to determine the said parameters. <IMAGE>
