<p>Workpieces such as carbide tips housed in a cleaning basket are immersed in a reactive treating solution in an ultrasonic processing tank (3) with an ultrasonic vibrator (2) mounted on a bottom thereof. The ultrasonic vibrator radiates ultrasonic energy into the treating solution (4) to cause foreign matter containing in a surface layer of the workpiece (6) to react with and dissolved in the treating solution, so that the foreign matter will be removed from the workpiece. The treating solution is discharged from the ultrasonic processing tank, deaerated by a deaerating device, and then supplied back to the ultrasonic processing tank. <IMAGE></p> |
