The present invention relates to a toothpick which has a core of metal 1 and a casing 5, 6 of soft material enclosing the core, the casing consisting of a left side 5 and a right side 6 of synthetic fibre material, and the sides having been joined together, by welding, in the dividing plane of the toothpick, both on the edge side of the toothpick and on the reverse side of the toothpick. The invention also relates to a method for producing a toothpick according to the above, in which method material is punched out from a sheet of metal so that toothpicks cores are left projecting from a common stem. The cores are then coated on each side with casing material, which is welded together along the edge side and reverse side of each core, after which the toothpicks are separated from the stem. <IMAGE> |
