A door (1) with a locking member (4), which is actuated by means of a handle (6) pivotable about a vertical pivot axis (12) is described. Arranged in a fastening device of a handle fitting is a deflection gear which has a gear part acting on the locking member and a second gear part connectable to the handle. The locking member can be actuated selectively by exerting pressure or a pull on the handle. Moreover, a handle fitting suitable for this is described.
