PURPOSE:To provide a method for welding a steel column material for building efficiently by using a laser welding machine. CONSTITUTION:At the time of manufacturing a column material 1 by depositing plural square cylindrical steel materials 2, 3, 4, with diaphragm plates 5, 6 interposed therebetween and depositing cover plates 7, 8 at both ends thereof, the square cylindrical material5 2, 3, 4, the diaphragm plates 5, 6 and the over plates 7, 8 are aligned and stored in a set cage 10, and after structural members are fastened and held, the set cage 10 is disposed in a designated position on a bed 12 controlled to move in XY directions. While laser beam is applied to a required place of a structural member in the set cage 10 from a laser welding machine faced above the bed 12, the bet is moved in the direction of X or in the direction of Y, and the set cage is rotated by rotating mechanisms 15, 16 to weld the structural members to each other. |
