PURPOSE:To prevent toner from being scattered even when the toner concentration of two-component developer is made high and to obtain an image with high density and without roughness. CONSTITUTION:For a developing sleeve incorporating a magnet roller 12 and carrying the two-component developer, an electrode for pressing toner 18 is provided in a non-contact state at a position on an upstream side in the rotating direction of the developing sleeve 11 from a developing part opposed to a photosensitive drum 1. By impressing the DC voltage of specified polarity on the electrode 18, the toner held by carrier in developer is moved in the surface direction of the sleeve 11. Therefore, the developer on the sleeve 11 exists one-sidedly in a state where the toner is little at a spot distant from the surface of the sleeve 11 and much on the surface, whereby the toner is not scattered even in the case of carrying the excessive amount of toner, and developing density is high because the toner is excessive so as to obtain the image without the roughness. |
