PURPOSE:To prevent paper jam by a page printer wherein data for two sheets of papers is printed on paper of double the paper size to be printed in accordance with a set printing mode when the paper of the desired size is not set. CONSTITUTION:A printing data from a terminal 2 is supplied to a receive buffer 6 which includes printing code, character position, specifying data for lateral or vertical writing, portrait mode, landscape mode, through an external connection interface 5 of a controller 33. On the other hand, when a cassette is set in printing paper supply sections 11a and 11b, a size and a direction of a paper are detected by co-operation of a protrusion 43 provided in the cassette and a micro switch 44 of the supply sections 11a and 11b, and are inputted to a microprocessor 36. A microprocessor 35 of the controller 33, when there is not a paper to be printed, selects a paper so as to print the printing data for two sheets of paper on a paper of double the size, from a paper 24 and the printing data, and issues a command for printing. It is cut into halves after the printing. |
