CLONED HUMAN T-CELL STRAIN CAPABLE OF MASS PRODUCTION OF IL-5 AND IFN-GAMMA

PURPOSE:To provide the subject cell strain and to provide the production method of IL-5. CONSTITUTION:This T-cell strain can be obtained by the following process: (1) peripheral blood monocytes derived from humans with eosinophilia induced by drug allergy are cultured in a medium containing this drug to produce lymphoblast; (2) the lymphoblast is cultured in an interleukin-2-contg. medium to recover differentiated and matured living cells; and (3) from these cells, the T-cell strain capable of producing and secreting interleukin-5 (IL-5) and gamma-interferon (IFN-gamma) in large quantities is cloned. The other objectives are as follows: (A) T-cell line producible by the present method; (B) method for producing IL-5 and IFN-gamma using the T-cell line; and (C) IL-5 produced by this method.
