SEALED NICKEL-ZINC BATTERY

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the liquid reserving function of an electrolyte without increasing electrical resistance, by forming a nickel layer on a micro-porous film separator in which porosity is specified. CONSTITUTION:A nickel layer is coated on a micro-porous film separator having a porosity of 50-85%. This separator is applied to a sealed type nickel - zinc battery. The porosity of a micro-porous film of 50 or more % restrains a small short circuit caused by dendrites of zinc. The coating thickness of nickel of 20-150 angstrom has conspicuous effect to restrain the small short circuit of the nickel coating. This provides a sealed type nickel - zinc battery with a long life.
