PURPOSE:To attain inexpensive bi-directional optical communication between a master station and plural slave stations with high performance by letting the master station side control an optical output of an electrooptic converter on each slave station side. CONSTITUTION:Image signals f2-fn subject to frequency division multiplex and a control signal f1 controlling optical switches 35g, 36g provided on each of slave stations 35, 36 are mixed by a mixer 30a at a master station 30, the mixed signal is converted into an optical signal by an electrooptic converter 30b and transmitted to each of the slave stations 35, 36 via an optical distributer 32. Photoelectric converters 35a, 36a in each of the slave stations 35, 36 convert the inputted optical signal into the modulated signals f1-fn, branching devices 35b, 36b branch the modulation signals f1-fn into an image signal and a control signal, only a control circuit 35f or 36f of a specific slave station applies on- control to the optical switch to let an electrooptic converter 35h or 36h attain optical output to the master station 30 thereby attaining the bi-directional optical communication between the master station and a specific slave station. |
