PURPOSE:To improve efficiency for utilizing a main transmission line at the time of generating any fault in a LAN terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:Respective interface circuits 3-1 to 3-k of LAN terminal equipments 6-1 to 6-k schedule the order of using a main transmission line 1 by fetching the use requests of the main transmission line 1 sent from interface circuits 4-1 to 4-k through a sub transmission line 2. On the other hand, the respective interface circuits 4-1 to 4-k control the exchange of packet data between terminal equipments 5-1 to 5-k and the main transmission line 1. In addition to the function as mentioned above, the interface circuit 3-k detects the fault and recovery of the LAN terminal equipments 6-1 to 6-k from the trace of the use request and reports the address of the fault and recovered equipment 6-i through the circuit 4-k to all the LAN terminal equipments 6-1 to 6-k, and the LAN terminal equipments 6-1 to 6-k receiving the information do not transmit data to the equipment 6-i under the fault. |
