<p>PURPOSE:To provide an elevating and sinking device for a basket used with a radioactive substance rinsing trough, with which the position of the basket can be sensed easily, retaining of the basket position is easy when it is stopped moving, and maintenance can be made directly by the operator owing to location of the electric fittings in the area with no risk of exposure to radiations. CONSTITUTION:The torque of a motor 1 is transmitted to a ball screw 6 via a mechanical clutch 2, drive shaft 3, junction shaft 4, and worm gear 5. The ball screw 6 is engaged by a ball nut 9 mounted on rod 8. When the ball screw 6 rotates, the ball nut 9 moves vertically to cause the rod 8 to move vertically, and a basket 7 mounted at its bottom is put in vertical motions within a rinsing trough 12. The position of this basket 7 in the trough 12 can be sensed digitally by an encoder 10 installed at the end of the drive shaft 3.</p> |
