DRY FORMING APPARATUS, MANUFACTURE OF PERMANENT MAGNET, AND PERMANENT MAGNET

PURPOSE:To provide a method of dry forming of an oxide permanent magnet of improved magnetization orientation while preventing defects in shape. CONSTITUTION:A dry forming apparatus is provided for forming oxide powder for a permanent magnet in a magnetic field within a cavity 5 defined by a frame 2, an upper punch 3 and a lower punch 4. The opposed punches have holes 31 and 41 communicating with the cavity. The holes serve to reduce gas confined in the compact of the powder, thereby preventing breaks that are likely occur at edges of the compact due to the confined gas.
