PURPOSE:To shorten the expansion time with respect to the method which expands image data, especially, image data having a clip frame from an image file in an output device to a bit map memory BMM. CONSTITUTION:With respect to the output device which is provided with a mechanism which sets a clip frame segmenting the expanded data to a BMM 6 and an image expanding mechanism which divisionally reads out plural lines as one block from an image file 1 and expands them in a prescribed position of the BMM 6, the image expanding mechanism is provided with a clip discriminating part 41 which detects that the start address of image data of one block exists in the clip frame, and image data of one block is not expanded in the BMM 6 if all of image data of one block is on the outside of the clip frame, and all of image data is expanded in the case of the first block but only image data in the clip frame is expanded in the case of the last block if a part of image data of one block protrudes out of the clip frame. |
