PURPOSE:To monitor variations in current or voltage or power at DC side of a high power-factor AC/DC converter 2b and to enable the detection of service interruption. CONSTITUTION:A service interruption detection device of an uninterruptible power supply 2 constituted of a high power-factor AC/DC converter 2b using a high speed self extinction of arc-shaped semiconductor element, a battery 2c and a DC/AC converter 2d is equipped with a current detector 9 detecting DC output current 1dc1 of a high power-factor AC/DC converter 2b and a comparator 6b comparing DC output current 1dc1 with a service interruption signal 1dc0 set by a service interruption detection level circuit 6a, and service interruption is detected by variations in DC output current 1dc1.
