The reinforcement and security bar consists of a hollow, polygonal section bar (1) with its upper section (2) folded over to form a slot which receives inverted L-shaped brackets (5) designed to engage with existing slots, e.g. aeration holes, in the shutter (P). The brackets have elongated slots to receive fixings in the form of bolts (6) with washers (8) nuts (7) and locking rings (9). The two ends of the bar are equipped with sliding bolts (10) to engage with holes in the side walls, e.g. of a window opening, and it can also have a bracket (14,15) in the middle to lock a long bolt. The bar and its accessories are pref. made of stainless steel, Al, epoxy, or polyester. USE/ADVANTAGE - Fixes on inside of shutter to give added security. Reduces risk of break-in by preventing shutter from being lifted off hinges or force open.
