<p>PURPOSE:To perform a filter processing which is not visually prominent, and to improve a compressing efficiency by selecting a filter at every divided partial image and executing a filter processing on image data based on the selected filter. CONSTITUTION:The high frequency components of the image data are extracted by a Lapracian filter 12, the diffused high frequency components are removed by a median filter 14, and an edge is preserved. And also, the residual high frequency components are subdivided into blocks of a prescribed size, the high frequency components at every block are totaled, and the optimal filter is selected by a filter selecting part 15 based on the total value. Next, this device is equipped with a low pass filter 16 which is selected based on the selected data from the filter selecting part 15. Then, a screen is subdivided, and a filter processing matched to the image 3 is executed at every part.</p> |
