PURPOSE:To prevent elongation of a document carrying path, to reduce restriction concerning placement of a cutter or cutting timing, to miniaturize the device and to obtain an image of good quality in the image forming device by providing a carrying process to measure the length of the document beforehand immediately before the carrying of the document for exposure. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with an automatic document carrying means D with carrying rollers 10 and 11 with a document detection switch S2 between a document insertion opening and a contact glass 2 and carrying the document in both the forward and reverse directions and the cutter part 22 provided with a recording paper detection sensor S10 in its vicinity and a control part and the document is saved from the contact glass by the control part by rotating the carrying rollers 10 and 11 in reverse after the end tip of the document is carried past the document detection switch S2 after carrying the inserted document in the forward direction and the measurement of the length of the document is completed, after that, the document is passed over the contact glass 2 by driving the carrying rollers 10 and 11 forward again for document exposure and furthermore, the cutter part 22 is operated so that the length of the recording paper is equivalent to the length of the measured document. |
