<p>PURPOSE:To provide a gas insulated switchgear which can contribute for downsizing and low driving power, exhibit high interrupting performance over a wide current range, and thereby suitable for high voltage system. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of circular arc extinguish chamber layers, each comprising a movable arc contactor 1 and a fixed arc contactor 2 secured in a booster chamber 21 of an insulated vessel 3 wherein a radial contactor 7 is arranged semicircularly in an insulating tube 6 disposed in the insulated vessel 3 and the remaining circle is composed of an insulator 8, are laminated such that the contactors 7 are arranged alternately and the end of a prestage contactor 7 is connected with the start of a poststage contactor 7. Start and end of arc extinguish chamber layers at the opposite ends are connected, respectively, with first and second coils 5, 10 and the second coil 10 is connected with the fixed arc contactor 2. A second movable contactor 12 is provided in the hollow section of the radial contactor 7 and brought into contact therewith at the time of throw-in whereas it is held between radial contactors 7 of adjacent layers at the time of interruption.</p> |
