<p>PURPOSE:To provide a method for manufacturing a color filter in which a foreign material or color mixed part on a colored layer or an overcoat layer can be removed without carbonization of the surface nor generation of a splash, and a high quality liquid display device having no short-circuit between electrodes can be provided. CONSTITUTION:In a method for manufacturing a color filter, when a foreign material 4 or color mixed part is present in a colored layer or an overcoat layer at the time of forming colored layers 3a, 3b, 3c direct or through another layer on a transparent base 1, and forming a transparent conductive film 6 direct or through an overcoat layer 5 on the colored layers, this foreign material or color mixed part is detected, and an eximer laser beam having a wavelength ranging from 150 to 400nm is emitted thereto to remove the foreign material or color mixed part by photochemical reaction.</p> |
