FLUORESCENT LAMP FOR MANUSCRIPT ILLUMINATION

PURPOSE:To suppress the decrease of illuminance at the end parts of a glass bulb and lessen the number of part items by installing pin bases having parts extended toward the center of the glass bulb in both end of the glass bulb. CONSTITUTION:A thermal cathode-type fluorescent lamp for manuscript illumination is provided with a straight tubular type glass bulb 9 and pin bases 10 made of a white and insulating resin and fitted in both ends of the bulb. The pin bases 10 have a cylindrical shape wherein the pin bases have a part extended toward the center of the bulb 9 along the glass bulb 9 axial direction. A reflective material is applied to the inner face of the extended parts of the pin bases 10. When the fluorescent lamp is turned on, the direct light from the open parts of the pin bases 10 illuminates a manuscript. Further the light proceeding to the part besides the open parts of the pin bases 10 is reflected by the extended parts 11 and also illuminates the manuscript.
