PURPOSE:To obtain an optical switch having a structure suitable for miniaturization. CONSTITUTION:This switch is constituted so as to be provided with a first arranging member 11 arranging the optical coupling end surfaces of a first and a second multiple optical fibers 17, 18 nearly in a line, a second arranging member 12 arranging the optical coupling end surfaces of a third and a fourth multiple optical fibers 19, 20 connected to the first and the second multiple optical fibers 17, 18, nearly in a line an intermediate member 13 lying between the first arranging member 11 and the second arranging member 12 and arranging a pair of multiple optical fibers in parallel on a first surface and intersecting and arranging a pair of multiple optical fibers on a second surface parallel to the first surface and a moving mechanism arranging the coupling end surfaces of the first arranging member 11 and the second arranging member 12 so as to coincide with the first surface or the second surface of the intermediate member 13 and moving the intermediate member 13 in a direction orthogonally intersecting with the first surface. |
