PURPOSE:To manufacture a positive electrode material by which a lithium battery having excellent cycle stability can be obtained by mixing and melting V2O5 and alkaline earth metal phosphate salt together, dropping it in the water, cooling it rapidly, and pulverizing it. CONSTITUTION:V2O5 of about 64-92 molar %, alkaline earth metal phosphate salt [Ca (H2PO4)2.H2O and so on] of about 36-8 molar % and mixture formed by adding CoO2 further to V2O5 by not more than about 10 molar % according to its necessity, are held at about 200-500 deg.C for about thirty minutes to six hours, and are held further at about 560-740 deg.C for about five minutes to one hour, and are melted. Next, after it is cooled rapidly by dropping it in the water or by carrying out metal press, it is pulverized, and an amorphous positive electrode material can be manufactured. A lithium battery having excellent cycle stability can be obtained by using this positive electrode material. |
