PURPOSE:To minimize errors at the time of using printed shelf assignment data by obtaining image data more analogous to merchandise in a short time. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a merchandise master storage part 6 for correspondingly storing merchandise names, pertinent merchandise codes and the size of the merchandise and a shelf data storage part 9 for storing the contour of the shelf corresponding to the shelf name to be the object of display as shelf data. The image data are tentatively obtained from the photographic picture of the object merchandise by an image scanner 5 to be displayed at a display part 2, an obtaining range is specified by a keyboard 1 and the size of the merchandise provided with the pertinent merchandise code is read from the merchandise master storage part 6 by a size deciding means 4. Based on these, the image data of a specified magnification are obtained again from the photographic picture by the image scanner 5 to be stored in a merchandise image data storage part 8 and the image data stored inside the merchandise image data storage part 8 are inserted to an appropriate position in the pertinent shelf data stored in the shelf data storage part 9. |
