LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CORRECTING ITS DEFECT

PURPOSE:To eliminate display defects, such as spot defects, by maintaining a specified coupling voltage DELTAVgs in the case of disconnection of one piece of plural pieces of thin-film transistors(TFTs) for one picture element and correction of this TFT. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display device is constituted of the plural TFT elements 10, 20 per one picture element and plural divided capacitors 61, 62 connected in parallel thereto and the change in the coupling voltage to be generated in the capacitors between the gates and sources of the TFTs is suppressed by disconnecting one of the divided capacitors 61, 62 in correspondence to the disconnection of the defective TFT element. As a result, the coupling voltage is maintained constant even after the correction of the defect and the generation of the dotty defects and stain-like display unevenness of the corrected liquid crystal display device is prevented.
