PURPOSE:To exactly discriminate an original by discriminating the dot area of the original based on input picture data, and discriminating a similarity in a color space by a color space matching discriminating circuit from the information of the dot area and the color information of the input picture data. CONSTITUTION:A CCD 101 reads the original and inputs the picture data, and a dot detecting circuit 120 detects the dot area and prepares a dot detection signal 121 by an input picture signal. A color space matching discriminating circuit 106 receives the signal 121, and calculates the similarity of a distribution in a three-dimensional color space in a real time based on the information of the dot area and the color information of the input picture data. At that time, the distortion of a brightness and a color tone due to the position of the original can be corrected by using a color signal after a shading correction, so that the similarity in the color space can be exactly discriminated regardless of the position where the input original is placed. Then, the exact specific original can be detected by controlling the matching processing of the color tone, the dot detection signal can be shared by both a specific original detecting part and a print original preparing part, and the circuit 128 can be reduced. |
