PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality after line number conversion. CONSTITUTION:A moving picture and a still picture are separated from an input picture signal by a separator circuit 12 and they are fed to a line number conversion processing means 20. The line number conversion processing means 20 is made up of a couple of buffer memories 21a, 21b, a mixer 23 and a conversion coefficient generating means 30 and picture signals of two preceding and succeeding lines stored in the buffer memories 21a, 21b are read simultaneously and fed to the mixer 23. Proper line number conversion coefficients Km, Ks in response to the moving picture and still picture are fed to the mixer 23, then a different conversion coefficient is given from the moving picture and the still picture to implement the conversion processing of a line number. Thus, the picture quality after line number conversion is improved regardless of the moving picture and the still picture. |
