PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform speed control of single phase induction motor as well as three-phase induction motor by making it possible to output two-phase and three-phase powers separately from an inverter unit. CONSTITUTION:Any one of three-phase output parameters or two-phase output parameters is taken out selectively from a parameter setting section 4. The parameters thus taken out are delivered to a gate control section 2 from which a corresponding gate signal is delivered to an inverter output section 1. The inverter output section 1 performs switching control of switching elements based on the gate signal and produces AC power having number of phases determined by the parameters. When a single phase induction motor 8 is driven, phase advance capacitor is eliminated from the connection and two-phase AC power is produced from the inverter output section 1. |
